Calculate the size of your garden bed

By: Garden Gate staff
These handy calculators make filling your garden beds easier than ever!

Whether you’re ordering soil or mulch or wondering how many plants to buy, learning your garden’s size in square feet is a good thing to know. You’ll find calculators for three common shapes here and if your garden bed breaks the mold we’ve got that covered, too. Do some measuring, plug in the numbers and you’ll get the information you need to get to work.

Use several basic shapes to fill as much of the irregular bed as possible. Measure and use the calculators for each one then add them together to get the square footage for the entire bed.
