A perfect shade plant

Foamflowers have lots of great traits, but each plant has one thing in common: They’re easy to care for once established. Just make sure this native woodland plant has a place in part to full shade, where sun can’t dry them out fast, causing leaves to wilt or burn.

Blooms Pink or white spikes in spring

Light Part to full shade

Soil Moist, well-drained

Size 2- to 8-in.-tall foliage with flowers up to 19 in. tall, width can be 6 in. to spreading

Cold-hardy USDA zones 3 to 9

Heat-tolerant AHS zones 9 to 1
