‘Mac ‘n’ Cheese’ and ‘Tomato Soup’ coneflowers Echinacea hybrids

You’ve probably noticed that coneflowers aren’t necessarily purple anymore. These two colors — golden yellow and tomato red — will fill out the rainbow of flower colors quite nicely.

Besides being pretty, these plants have the same hardy constitution that coneflowers are known for. Both varieties have upright habits with good branching, which means there will be plenty of those 4- to 5-in. flowers for you to enjoy. And you’re not the only one who will be excited about them. Butterflies love coneflowers while they’re in bloom, and goldfinches feast on the seedheads that are left in fall.
