Cutting back lungwort

By: Garden Gate staff
Lungwort plants looking a little ragged from winter? Don't clean them up before you read this must-know advice.

Cutting back lungwort

If you cut lungwort (Pulmonaria spp. and hybrids) back to the ground now, you could damage the emerging flower buds that you see here. Early spring is a good time to remove winter-damaged leaves, but rather than cutting it back, pull it out carefully so you can preserve the emerging flowers.
