Try these celosia stars
This tender perennial remains undaunted in the summer sun and produces a bounty of blooms to enjoy in the garden and in a vase. You can even dry a few as a reminder of warm summer days once winter sets in.
‘Arabonna Red’ plume celosia’s striking upright flowers make quite a statement, but celosias come in almost any color and a couple of different shapes. Click ahead to see some of the variety this colorful flower has to offer.

Cockscomb celosia
Cockscomb type celosias have wrinkled-looking blooms that create a stir with a multitude of vivid flowers. ‘Tornado Red’ grows 16 to 24 in. tall and 12 to 16 in. wide with big 8- to 9-in. blooms.

Wheat celosia
Wheat celosias are all shades of pink or red-purple and can self-sow when they’re happy, so you may enjoy flowers for many years without needing to replant. ‘Pink Candle’ produces clusters of blooms on plants 24 to 36 in. tall and 6 to 8 in. wide.

Plume celosia
Plume celosia has soft, feathery blooms. Plant a flat or two near the front door to grab visitors’ attention and point the way. Fresh Look Yellow grows 12 o 16 in. tall and wide.
