Trees, shrubs, flowers, and other plants grow during different times of the year, but most of them grow during the time when the weather is nice and comfortable. The thing is, while you can landscape your garden at any time of the year, you can’t do this to your garden. But when is really the best time to redo your garden?

Every homeowner wants to have a great garden and most are willing to get their hands dirty for it. While most people assume that the best time to plant is during spring, it will actually depend on other factors as well. You can actually plan your garden and plant some seeds during an earlier time of the year. But this will depend on the crops that you would like to grow.

Take a look at the following tips and guidelines if you plan on redoing your garden soon below:

For Trees And Shrubs

If you want to plant trees and shrubs in your garden, then you should first find out when your frost date is, autumn and winter is the best time to plant the seeds of your trees and shrubs because they won’t end up drying up. They will have an extended lifespan and will most likely just dry up during early summer. The warmth that remains inside the soil during these times will also help encourage the growth of roots faster as well.

What Do You Want to Plant?

For many people who want to start or redo their garden, choosing the right type of plant will be crucial. At the end of the day, you want to grow great crops and flowers along with increasing the overall curb appeal of your home as well. This is why it is important to know which plants will thrive during which type of season:

In the summertime, rain is scarce, so it’s best to plant seeds that will thrive on long and hot summer days. Unless you plan on planting in the shade under a reticulation system, of course! Consider planting tomatoes, zucchini, and capsicum in your garden by the middle of summer to get the best growth throughout the season.

Fall

Fall is probably the best time to redo your gardens because this is the best time or season for crops to grow. You can turn your garden into something that is filled with various herbs because this is the time of the year when oreganos, parley, and other types of herbs thrive. You can also plant trees, the orange and lemon ones, along with other bushes as well. You can even plant vegetables like broccoli as well. Basically, you can grow a lot of things during this time, making it a great opportunity for you to redo your garden.

Winter

Winter isn’t really the best time for crops, but if you want to plant crops like carrots, lettuce, and onions, then you can probably plant them during this time.

Spring

If you want to plant or create a vegetable patch in your garden, then spring is the best time of the year for it. Most herbs also grow during this time, and fruits can grow as well. This is also a great time for you to redo your gardens.

Summer

Planting during the summer can be tricky because there isn’t really much rainfall. If you want to redo your garden during this time, then make sure that you install some type of reticulation system to keep your plants hydrated. You can also choose to plant seeds that grow well during the summer like tomatoes and zucchini.

Other Influencing Factors

Other factors that may affect how you redo your gardens will be the type of soil that you have, and your landscaping as well. Will your plants get a lot of sunlight or too much of it? Will they get enough water? Knowing these things will also help you decide when is the best time of the year for you to redo your garden, along with the plants that will thrive and grow best.
