Our yards or gardens can help improve overall curb appeal, and can also be a place where the family can bond, or a place to entertain guests as well. It can also serve as an additional space, depending on how you utilize it. The amount of space isn’t really an issue, and even a small area can become a great garden where you can plant and entertain your family and friends.

You don’t really need a huge yard to create a great-looking garden. You can make the most out of the space that you have. You only need to use your creativity, and you’ll have a flourishing garden that looks beautiful in just a matter of time. But how do you do it? Here are some tips on how you can have a great looking garden even with a small area:

1.Divide Your Garden and Organize

You can make your garden seem bigger by dividing it into various levels. Basically, this means that when you have a small space, you can divide your garden according to sections.  You can use stones or grass to separate sections and you can also try to grow plants on containers to make your garden look more organized.

2.Grow Plants Vertically

You can also use vertical space by growing your plants vertically. You can use the walls of your garden, netting, or even a trellis. You can easily grow herbs and vines in this vertical space. A garden tower with grown flowers and orchids will also look good.

3.Select the Right Furniture

Adding in furniture is a nice feature in a small space, but you should keep your outdoor furniture small scale and minimalist so that it doesn’t come off as obtrusive. For example, use slim benches or chairs so that your furniture won’t be taking up all the space.

4. Add Color

Adding color will also help make your garden look much aesthetically pleasing, so make sure that you add in colors that are different. This will make your garden look better, instead of just having all the greenery. However, if you don’t want to use flowers, you can use herbs or vegetables that have flowers as well. Aside from these, you can also use colored pots and containers.

5.Choose a Focal Point

Another way to make a small space look better is by adding in a focal point or highlighting an area. You can revolve your design around it, and also make it a great feature of your garden. You can add a plant, a statue, or even a griller and make this the main highlight of your garden. You may also choose to focus on a plant. For example, center your design over a huge tree in your garden. You can also use art or other types of outdoor furniture.

6.Don’t Put In Too Much

At the end of the day, make sure that you still balance the elements in your garden and not add in too many features. Choose the plants you want to grow, and make sure that you utilize space. Avoid using too many types of materials, and focus on a central theme or highlight.
