Green Flowers for Your Garden

By: Jennifer HowellJennifer Howell
Green in the garden doesn’t have to mean foliage — here are 10 unique green flowers that can complement and even outshine other flower colors in beds and borders!

Different types of Green flowers: Add green flowers like these beauties for an unexpected pop of color in the garden.

Rest your eyes on green flowers

With our increasingly demanding schedules and hectic pace, many of us are in need of a quiet oasis, a place to be still. Let green flowers help. Restful, healing and balanced, the color green can restore the senses. From a color psychology perspective, green is an emotionally positive color, a natural peacemaker. It combines the optimism of yellow and the calming effects of blue.

Because green is so ubiquitous in the garden, it is often taken for granted and may be overlooked as an important tool. When used thoughtfully, green functions with equal success as a backdrop or as a richly varied main stage color.
