Night Sky petunia (Petunia hybrid)
What we love: You can’t walk by Night Sky petunia without giving those purple-splashed-with-white blooms a second look.
The flower pattern is very responsive to day and nighttime temperatures. In spring and fall the blooms look like these. But as summer warms up and nights get up to 73 degrees F and higher, the white spots are smaller and there are fewer of them. You may even have a solid purple flower or two. Extreme differences between day and night temperatures, such as hot days and cool nights, produce white flowers.

Sun Parasol® Apricot mandevilla (Mandevilla hybrid)
What we love: This is an unusual color for mandevilla flowers—you usually see them in pinks, reds and white. Sun Parasol is a vigorous long-blooming series. Apricot’s compact size is perfect for growing in containers where you can enjoy the 3- to 5-inch flowers up close.

‘Orange Crush’ four o’clock (Mirabilis jalapa)
What we love: ‘Orange Crush’, with its sweetly scented blooms, is a great addition to your summer lineup of colorful flowers. Blooms open later in the afternoon in time for passing butterflies and stay open into the evening so night-flying moths can get a sip of nectar, too. Take a seat on your patio after work and enjoy the show.
