Brush bungees

By: Garden Gate staff
Learn why to keep a bungee cord handy when clearing debris in your beds and borders.

Brush bungees

Keep a bungee cord hooked around the handles of your wheelbarrow so when you clean up a large load of debris, you can hook the cord over the top of the pile, like at left.

This keeps the load in place during the bumpy trek to the compost or brush pile. And it saves time because there’s no retracing steps to pick up lost sticks or leaves.

While a single bungee cord is probably enough to secure most piles, you may need a couple to keep looser debris, such as leaves or pine needles, secure.
