Create the illusion of more space
Want a small garden to look larger? There are some techniques to try. Check out the garden in photo at left, for example. It’s long and narrow — only 18 ft. wide. But a hanging mirror adds extra depth.
Just like a mirror inside the house creates the illusion of a more expansive area, one in your yard can have the same effect. This mirror reflects light and the image of the garden, making it appear twice as big. Try hanging one in a shady spot, where it will add extra brightness.
