Convenient containers

Self-watering containers make maintaining eye-catching combos easier. With a source of water to draw on, plants will stay healthy and good-looking when you’re out of town or unable to stay on top of watering.

Have you ever purchased a beautiful hanging basket in spring only to have it dry up by midsummer? Replanting into a basket that delivers consistent moisture, like the one at left, keeps your purchase lush all season long — without daily watering.

Every couple of days, simply moisten the soil and fill the reservoir with two quarts of water. Just be sure self-watering hanging baskets, which can get heavy holding extra water, have a sturdy hook that’s well-anchored.
