3 out-of-the-ordinary daylilies

By: Garden Gate staff
Get inspired by these 3 unique daylilies and learn more about this incredibly diverse family.

Daylilies (Hemerocallis spp. and hybrids) are some of the easiest perennials you can grow. But if you think they’re too common, think again!

There are thousands of varieties (and counting) in a rainbow of colors, with unique flower forms and even ones that are really tall or super small. Growing well in full sun to part shade and any well-drained soil, they’re perfect for novice gardeners and green thumbs alike. And you can have some flowering from late spring through fall by choosing early, mid- and late-season bloomers, as well as rebloomers.
