If you have a hole in your border but don’t want to wait for slow-growing perennials to fill in, try this: The hosta (Hosta spp. and hybrids) in photo at left is actually a group of four. These gallon-sized plants were placed in the ground so close together that the foliage overlaps — it makes them look like one giant plant and creates stunning impact.
