Side yard success

Get the most out of any narrow space with these three easy tips!

Side yard success

ENTRY TRELLIS This open trellis and arbor create a transition between public and private space without seeming like a barrier. The open construction allows for better air circulation, as well.

LOVELY LEAVES Hostas are the workhorses of this garden. There’s a nice mix of cultivars with a range of leaf colors, sizes and shapes. And they repeat, creating unity. Interspersing coral bells and lady’s mantle adds finer texture for contrast.

VERSATILE CONTAINERS This large pot of impatiens adds accents of color on both sides of the path. Several other containers tucked into the garden also add height and brightness in areas that would otherwise be green.
