Taller grass,
less work
Does your lawn look stressed? Are weeds taking over the turf? You could be cutting the grass too short! Luckily, getting a better-looking lawn actually means less work for you.
The illustration to the left shows that the taller you leave heat-loving Southern turf grass St. Augustinegrass (Stenotaphrum secundatum), the less frequently it needs to be mowed. Depending on how much moisture the lawn receives, if you mow it at 2 inches you’ll probably need to mow every 5 to 7 days. Keep it at 3 to 4 inches, though, and you’ll only mow about every 10 to 14 days.
