IDENTIFICATION — The wheel bug is an assassin bug that preys on insects that include aphids, hairy caterpillars, fall webworms and sawflies. It injects a paralyzing toxin into its victims. Don’t handle it — its bite can hurt!

HOW TO ATTRACT IT — The best way to attract beneficial insects like wheel bugs to your garden is to limit your use of pesticides. These ugly insects are good to have around — so don’t squish any you see!
