Must-try tree cleanup tip

Don’t let cut limbs crush plants! Protect the garden areas beneath a tree’s canopy by placing cinder blocks into open spaces in the bed, like we did around the hostas (Hosta spp. and hybrids) here. This makes it so that when a branch falls during cleanup, it won’t make full impact with the ground and only a few leaves will get damaged, instead of the whole plant.
