Hole composting
No room for a compost pile? Try using a second-hand kitchen blender and hole composting. Before starting in the kitchen, choose an empty spot in the garden and dig a hole about 10 in. wide and deep.
Back inside, add kitchen scraps (but no meat) and a cup of water to the blender. Once it’s mixed, take it outside and dump it in the hole you dug and add a little soil to get the microorganisms working. When you fill that hole, move to another spot.
Later on, when you plant in that area, stir the compost into the surrounding soil before you set the plants into the garden.
