From hanging basket to table topper
Just take off the chain to use a hanging basket, like the 12-inch one below, in a totally new way!
In an 18½-in. square outdoor end table, make a hole for the basket to sit. Cut out a pattern or use a compass to draw a circle that’s slightly smaller than the diameter of the basket, like in photo 1. You want a hole big enough for the basket to slip into without falling through. Next, use the jigsaw you see in photo 2 to cut a hole 10 inches in diameter. Just slip the blade between the slats to get started. Then spray paint what was cut to match the rest of the table, like in photo 3. The finished end table in photo 4 is ready for a transformed table topper.

Eye-catching addition
Plant up your hanging basket like you normally would. Since the basket sits up a little, there’s room for plants to spill over the side.
This centerpiece only gets better as the season goes on but if you want to, you can swap out plants in spring, summer and fall.
