Perennial beauty
A backdrop of yellow ‘Carolina Moonlight’ false indigo blooms brings out the soft, creamy yellow standards of this tall bearded iris. Fragrant ‘Ominous Stranger’ is a vigorous grower, with multiple flowers per stem.
False indigo takes time to get established, so be patient. Once it takes off, a long taproot makes transplanting a challenge, so choose your planting spot carefully. As long as soil is well-drained, both false indigo and tall bearded iris can tolerate a wide range of soils.
