Easy-to-read labels
Don’t struggle to read labels! Ones around the base of plants, like tomatoes, can get hidden away by foliage and fruit by midsummer.
Instead, use a fine-tip permanent marker to write the name of your plant on a wooden clothespin and clip it to the rim of the plant’s cage. This method works well for plants that need grow-through hoops, too, just like the peony (Paeonia spp. and hybrids) at left.
